He's a little monkey, which could account for a lot...

.

Today, he walks out almost fine, just a very slight 'stiffness' in the off-hind (if you looked very closely). I know I shouldn't walk out a lammi pone, but he was trolling round his box very happily and not looking at all sorry for himself, and this despite no Bute since yesterday early afternoon and that he was on rubber matting.

Anyhooo, vet says it is more than likely lammi: whilst that foot is hot, if it was the result of the nail last week he would be hoping lame on it. Sooooo, a deep bed (think small stable with six bales of shavings in it - I'm not sure I'll be able to find him tomorrow!

); a large haynet, and he's one very happy ponio

. I've put Little Cob in as well to keep him company.

Vet says no anit-bs for lammi. We were talking about all sorts of things and I cannot remember what she said about them for infection in the foot - I'll ask tomorrow when I give her the daily update.

Have decided to dig out the grazing muzzle, and YO has offered a small paddock that he can go in for a change of scenary, plus it's not grazed right down so what is there will not be stressed grass.

Off to wallow in a bath and drink tea. It's a hard life

Glad that LL has picked up today!! You caught it really early, which is brilliant! I've got my fingers crossed he'll be fine in no time

I didn't think that antibiotics were given to laminitis sufferers, just start to doubt yourself when someone else mentions something like that!!!

I have certainly never been given them, only ACP and bute.

I did try some laminshield? (sp) once which, wether it was my imagination or not seems to help! Mind you, it's only magnesium really so Epsom Salts does the same thing.

I think you'll find that antibiotics aren't given for pus in the foot either, but, again, if I'm wrong, let me know!!

I hope you find him in that bed tomorrow!!! Otherwise you're going to have some digging to do!!!!

Glad LL is feeling perkier

- probably because you caught it in time. Take spade with you to dig him out in the am

...My girl lives in a starvation paddock - but it does have some grass in it - enough so she keeps her gut going but not enough to stress it - so far is working for her and more importantly it means she can stay out
smile.gif
. Have been giving her the Global Herbs Laminitis Prone this year - fingers crossed I have found the ideal management plan for her!!

PM if you want to know anything else to help LL - sounds like you have it all covered though.

Ta folks - I thought of tying a piece of string to his tail so as I can find him again...

Hopefully he's on the mend, funny little bunny. He so sweet, whinnies when he sees - food (ah well, can't have everything lol).

On the plus side, I haven't seen Dizz for two days (poorly me). Went in the field and she cantered down to see me

, stood with her head touching me, then trolled down with me to the gate. So sweet
