My mare Molly an oldie 23+ yrs, her liver is bad, she has put up a good fight, she took ill 18 months ago ( dreading it) she is losing too much weight and enough is enough.
I only got her 30 months ago and she took to me instantly followed me everywhere I am so going to miss her. People are scared to take on an older horse, let me tell you she is so much worth it.

Sorry you are losing your special old girl, sounds like the end or her life was a good one thanks to you :)
Take care XXX

So sorry to hear of your loss. It sounds like you gave your lovely lady a loving and kind home and you've been so brave to let her go when the time is right.

I am so very sorry to read this . . . and huge kudos for taking on and loving/giving a home to an elderly lady in her twilight years.

Be kind to yourself.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Sounds like you did everything possible to make her final months happy- good on you. I love oldies and have just taken on a 21 year old loan companion who is such a sweetie.

Elderly horses need people like you to take care of them in their twilight years, and live out their last days in dignity. Hugs for you, and RIP little Molly.

So sorry about your little Molly. Yes, oldies ARE worth taking on. I took my old ex-racer on at 19, and had 10 wonderful years with him, before I had to say goodbye. Even though you only had Molly 30 months, I bet every minute was worth it. She's galloping free now, but she'll always be in your heart. (((big hugs))) to you.
RIP beautiful Molly x

Molly went peacefully, vet was fantastic with Molly and us, we covered her in petals so lovely nearly took a picture, they were ment to go on top of her grave but with the wind we just covered her instead, will cry tears in my heart every day of my life for molly.
RIP..MOLLY x
