Evening all (happy halloween
)
Ok so im having a bit of a rant, need your ideas and advice how to cope with it!
I opened my yard in April this year. Im a laid back, flexible chatty YO but still have rules so the yard runs as smoothly as possible.
I make time to chat with everyone, and i also do a 6 month yard letter to see if anyone has any concerns, to make sure everyone is happy.
One of my liveries (who is really nice, doesnt normally interfere and who is a novice, had her own horse just about 3 months now, doesnt know much, but always asks for advice) has just started to interfere with what i do with one of my boys!
My old man (32yr old, arthritic and needs to keep out, moving) is in his own paddock throughout the day, and we put him in the menage overnight (as we dont have much winter turnout to leave him in the field)
So he has a hay net at one side of the school, another net at the other side, and lickits dotted about, to try and keep him moving.
(evertime he goes in the stable, he rests his left hind leg, then it stiffens up, and his fetlock wont bend so he cant put hardly any weight on it, and looks like a cripple!)
So yea, my livery has now started to say
'oh he looks really miserable in there, you should bring him in to stable where its warm and dry...ill buy him lickits!'
and
'what are going to do when it gets really wet, and snowy? You'll have to bring him in then'
He may look a bit miserable, as he's in there on his own, but he has got a nice thick rug on to keep him warm, bandages to keep his legs warm, and all supplements under sun to help his situation.
My vet has even said to keep him out 24/7 365 days a year
I really want to say to her in the nicest possibly way, to back off, but i cant bring my self to do it!
What would you do??
