Hi, my gelding started the Liverpool cream treatment for 3 sarcoids on his chest, belly and sheath. Does anybody have any advice for managing them during the process or anything to watch out for. I knew it would swell but after 6 hours it’s gone from pea sized to tennis ball sized on all three. Also if anybody has any stories of the treatment going well could I hear them? I think I’ve spent too long looking at horror stories online today and have worried myself too much (again).
Thanks

Yes, I have known 2 horses have the treatment. All were successful.

I have to say though, that although there was some swelling it was not anywhere near as dramatic as you describe. It was mainly after the 2nd or 3rd application, and still not that dramatic.

skewbaldmillie I am interested in the feedback to this as my gelding is due to have his sarcoid lasered off. Was there any feedback from your vet on the two approaches? Just wondering what factors made you decide on the cream vs the laser as I am a little unsure if I am doing the right thing myself.

Yes I have with great success. My mare had 2 big ones. 1 high up on the inside of each hind leg. She also had 1 under each eye and 1 on her ear. The 2 big ones were treated with Liverpool cream and the biggest under 1 eye had BCG injections. I did also feed Global Herbs Sarc-X and Immune plus at the same time. The 2 big ones came off very quickly and I was warned they could recur because of this. The one under her eye was very slow but when I stopped feeding the Global Herbs products it resolved very quickly, and the other 2 disappeared of their own accord. It did seem to me that the Global herbs product helped with the Liverpool cream treatment but hindered the injections. At the time of writing none have recurred and this was 5 years ago.
