I am going to order some of these this year (Ive used them before)

Why do you have to pay more if its for bedding not burning? Do they send the same stuff regardless?
Is it more dusty if you pay the burning price?
 
Because as bedding you have to pay VAT and as fuel you don't. It's just one of the vagaries of the tax system. It's exactly the same stuff :)
 
Well I think most of us probably just pay the VAT like good little soldiers without really questioning it. I know I do. Because I am somewhat paranoid the tax man would give me a good spanking other wise. Of course, he probably wouldn't notice, but being the most unlucky person in the world I daren't risk it!

My delivery turns up tomorrow I hope. It had better or we'll have to move 5 tonnes by hand rather than with the tractor!
 
I've just put down my first bed of these last night; and at first impressions I'm totally sold- I love them!
Hopefully mine will prove economical after reading so many great reports from everyone else about these I have high hopes!
 
Ive been using them for 3 months now, wouldnt have any other bedding, its great. Not sure what VAT i paid as i called them for a price and told them it was for horse bedding and paid over the phone :) i ordered 1 tonne in the 15kg bags for about £230ish??
 
Same pellets

5 % vat on fuel
20 % as bedding

I asked this on the thread in Stable, how would they know ? would they check if you are using them for burning ?

Me too, no point risking it I reckon but I bet there's plenty who do it
 
We've been on them for a couple of years now. Great things :) We got in there early and now get a special loyalty bonus too. How cool is that?

The save me an absolute fortune compared to shavings and I hate mucking out shavings too so win win :D
