Anybody else out there got a livery agreement they can e mail me? I am providing part livery for a work colleague to keep his daughters pony but want an agreement to establish who does what etc. I am providing hay, straw, feed & wormers and feeding mornings for them. all for £28 I must be mad! Need an agreement to say that any mucking out/ looking after while they are on holiday etc is extra. Thought about £2.50 per day to muck out what does everbody think?

That's way too cheap, how on earth are you going to make any money out of that?
I was charging £4 daily to muck out nearly five years ago! I think you should revise your weekly charge or you will end up resenting all the work you will be doing because believe me you won't make anything out of it. Have you taken out insurance for the livery because you should absolutely make sure you are covered, friend or not. If you work that into the cost you could very well end up losing money.

Can I come to your yard too please! Actually love my yard but it's not that cheap! I am on part livery but if I want full livery for the day which is basically bed mucked out and feet picked out extra it is £5 a day Mon-fri and £7 at w'ends which I thought was reasonable!

Do you all have agreements with your yards? can anybody send me a copy? They had been offered stable nearby with hay/straw included for £25 per week with morning feed put in for them. I have included everything because I don't have enough room for them to have their own feed bins and hay/straw pile and wormer because I wanted to make sure it gets wormed at the same time as mine. They are novices and haven't a clue what their doing! They have bought a 4 year old 14.3 cob (croup high!) for their just turned 13 year old daughter who has been riding at a riding school for 6 years but is still nervous!

in our area DIY including feed would be about £60. Additives and wormers extra. Then about £5 per day for muck out or turn out. No wonder you are skint.

permanentlyskint you are always going to be that if that is what you are going to charge!....you are charging way too little. As for the fee for mucking out you are about half what it should be.

Your livery may be a work collegue but you still have to charge a reasonable amount. You need to sit down & work out what it is going to cost you for hay, straw, feed & wormers first & you'll see how much that actually eats into the £28. You also need to define which feed you will pay for, some are alot more epensive than others. Then for mucking out you need to charge £4-£5.... if you don't you'll find they will expect you to do it always....it will probably be cheaper for them to pay you than pay for fuel in their vehicle to come to the stables.

It doesn't appear that you have given sufficient thought to your price...get it right now or you will regret it & come to resent their presence o the yard.
