Hi wondering if anyone can help? Recently moved areas so dont know any body, I've knocked on doors where I've seen horses kept but every where is full. Does anyone know of anything with room for a welsh cob on DIY livery.

We nearly rented a place at Leyburn, they had stables on DIY.
I can't think of the name but it's an old racing yard, just outside of Leyburn itself, up onto the moor next door to a place called secret garden
Hope this helps, the lady has holiday lets in listed buildings, you are lucky to be riding in that area
 
I used to keep mine at the Hollies, which is just outside of Richmond. Loved it there but left 5 yrs ago when I moved down south so dont know what its like now. Brilliant hacking though, on site XC course and a little arena. Tended to be lots of kiddies around though which I never minded but thats not for everyone. There is also Richmond Equestrian centre which is a competition venue with livery and lessons. I can prob find a few more if I think hard enough. Or if you go to the big countrystore in Richmond, They have a livery directory and big noticeboard.

btw indoor and two outdoors, good stables and very friendly liveries ;-)
 
Sorry, but Bishop Auckland is miles away from Bedale/Leyburn! Would probably take an hour or more to bishop Auckland from Richmond, never mind Bedale or Leyburn.
 
oh there is also Northallerton Equestrian centre which is nearer to Bedale than Leyburn. Cant comment on what it is like though.....never been other than to drive past it. Army saddle club at catterick too....you dont have to be military, but its a bit cheaper if you are. They have lots of little shows there as well.

You could check at Eleanor Mercer Equestrian / Camp Hill (just south of Bedale - google it). They do livery, not sure if DIY, but if not, they are super helpful so might give you some names. There are loads of yards around that area, partic. Richmond, so you must be able to find something?

I would defo say Bishop Auckland is too far away from you, but not an hour or so! 30 min from Richmond, 45-ish from Bedale - only takes me an hour and quarter to drive from near Brough (Cumbria) to Newcastle!
 
I think FieldHouse equestrian has a livery yard as well as the shop, but I'm not 100% about that. Northallerton EC has great facilities but no idea how expensive it is. Eleanor Mercer is lovely and has good facilities too.

All 3 places may well know of other livery yards in the area. And you could contact Hels_Bels on here - she may well know of places
