What would you charge per week for a small yard of up to around ten horses, a 20 by 40m sand school, good amount of grazing, OK hacking and yard and owners home so 24hr supervision. Any ideas?
I currently pay £125 a month DIY, facilities wise its not great but does have unbeatable location and hacking.
I would pay more for something like you describe as a smaller yard and the school would be a major plus for me. I would probably pay up to £160 a month, but guess it depends on area as in this area decent yards are like gold dust!
I pay £108 for my stable which is a very good size!
Facilities:
Im on a yard with around 26 boxes, sand school with show jumps and lunge pen, xc field, good grazing all year round, ok hacking with little main road work YO on site pretty much 24 hrs, alarmed with 24hr cctv and motion sensors.
We have to buy hay and straw but they makeit on site and store it so no having to mess around getting it picked up or delivered!
I pay £110 per month for stable, own tack room, good grazing, 2 menages, lunge pen, show jumps, x country field, excellent off road hacking.
I would probably pay £100 per month for the facilities you've described, hope that helps.
Not too sure to be honest, I know one yard charges £38 per week for DIY but they have two schools however not nice grazing..really steep hills. And another £50 per week full livery but doesnt have a good rep and doesnt do a good job!
Really depends on exactly where you are in the South East. In the direct area around where I keep my horse, you could expect to pay £25 a week DIY with no school and upto £40 with school still for basic DIY, but we have fantastic hacking.
Go 10 - 15 miles away and its cheaper, I'd say £25 a week for the kind of thing you are describing OP.
I'm in Herts and I pay £90 per month for stable and unlimited turnout in large fields. yard has a large outdoor school for which we pay an extra £5 a month. hay and straw sold cheaply on site.
Excellent hacking, lorry / trailer parking if required individual storage spaces and left pretty much to our own devices.
