Livery Contracts

Can anyone tell me what you think should be in a livery contract? We don't currently have them but I have asked to talk to YO about it as I think it might make things more straightforward for all concerned.

Have had a look at the BHS sample contract but felt it was a little over the top. I'm not sure its reasonable to specify type of footwear while on yard premises

Sensible, possibly, but I would defend my right to occassionally muck out in trainers when Daisy is several hundred metres away in the field.

Just use the BHS contract as a guide and take out the bits you feel are ott.

I agree, think the BHS contract is a good place to start

i would consult with YO and then other liveries and have big meeting where you can sit down and think of anything you want to add or take out. that way everybody has taken part in writing it and has chance to debate any issues.

ok can't find it but from memory:
- yard opening times
- have to agree to obey rules (which are pinned up on noticeboard)
- disclaimer about leaving stuff/ trailers at yard
- no dogs allowed
- notice about YO being able to ring vet and authorise treatment if necessary
- clear rule about payment

I have a basic contract drawn up by a solicitor - Signed by myself and liveries on arrival - And then a set of rules and regs we all adhere to.
