I am thinking of buying a horse after having lessons for a few years, but have only just moved to the area, Please can someone advise where to keep horse and prices please, so I can plan ahead. I would like DIY or livery depending on how far I would have to travel.

Don't know the name but there is a DIY one on the pretty little hills on the outskirts of swindon, don't know if its west though.
but it looks pretty nice, would keep mine there if i could travel every day.
i will have a look for the name

Hi, I live in Grange Park, what i am looking for depends on how far the yard is, ie if it is within a few miles I could have DIY, if it was more than about 5 miles, I would need to have Part Livery at least because I would not be able to fit in work as well, so I would need someone to look after my horse 3/4 times a week.

The Gallops in Purton
Old Dairy Saddlery in Tockenham
Weir Farm in Broad Hinton

All of these are do-able from Grange Park! ODS only do part/full, not sure about The Gallops, and I think Weir Farm are flexible

As MizElz but your nearest one will be Harris Croft just over Junc. 16. I'm not sure they have all weather turn-out but they have an indoor and an outdoor school and a cross country course and good hacking.

a fraind of mine has just started a livery yard in bourton which is 5 mins from swindon it has brand new internal boxes very secure tack room summer 24/7 turn out and winter day time paddock also schooling paddock with sj DIY livery is £25 a week and that includes straw hay and haylage is avalible on site and if you wanted assistance with ur horse there is the livery yard owner or myself that run the yard if your interested let me no and ill give u my number

I know a lot of people at The Gallops and have heard a lot of positive things about it :)
I don't think Harris Croft has all year turnout which I think is why a someone I know moved because her pony was too unsettled with being in the stable in winter.

I imagine Knapp Farm would be too far away, but they have good facilities there :)
