Hi Gloucestershire people. I'm wondering if I moved out of the big smoke back to the Stroud area whether I could afford a neddie.

Please could you give me an idea of how much livery costs these days? DIY, part or full, just want to get an feel for how much I would need to have in the budget each month.

Thanks

Im DIY in the Forest of Dean area and pay £60 per month. For that I get a stable, tack room, 1 acre, no school, but a field for jumps and for us to school in.

DIY in Bristol area is about £25 a week...thats for stable, grazing and use of school...you pay extra for the floodlights! However, most liveries are asking quite a lot for hay, straw and shavings these days...so you need to budget for that.

For example...last winter DIY livery for my cob including bedding and hay was approx £180 a month...I regularly had breakdowns

Hi CMC
I'm DIY near Slimbridge, £25 per week with separate paddock, big stable in American Barn, use of 25 x 65 school with Jump For Joy show jumps, wash down area and lighted clipping / shoeing area.
Good Luck!

I am in north Glos (near Newent) and I used to budget £350 per month - that was for livery, bedding, hay, feed, wormer, insurance and shoeing.

Livery was £31.50 a week I think - thats for lovely big stable with rubber matting & automatic waterer, own paddock (or shared if you like) with all year round turn out, two schools (one 20 x 60 with floodlights, one bigger school for jumping), mini XC fences (well logs and stuff) in the big field.
