I need an idea on price as ive been asked to livery a pony for a friend and have no idea what is fair to ask!

So - its a 12.2hh pony and will basically be out 24/7 but will be having hay (as i have little grass) - no feed unless it really needs it.

Its short term for maybe 3 weeks until it can go to its new home. Its owner will not be visiting it so its just me looking after it.

Help...

We have just had similar on our yard.

We've just charged £25 per week + hay and feed for daily checking, pick out feed once a day, poo picking

Owner seemed very happy

Depends on your location I think. Where I am it works out sometimes at £10/week for grass livery if sharing, or £15/week for own paddocks.

So if you like your offereing a full grass livery at proberly £15-£20 a week including hay and twice daily checks and poo picking?

I'd want £25 a week for doing that, if not £30, because hay isn't cheap and they are saving on petrol and time - it's basically full grass livery, and your time needs to be factored in.

If anyone on here is willing to have a pony for £15 per week including hay and I don't have to visit, I'll hire a transporter and bring my entire lot down to you! :)

But if it's a friend who could do me a favour in the future then I might do it for a bit less!

And thats why I would make C&*p yard owner, I would never make any cash hahaha. However I would £20/ week for a mate for a pony depending on hay prices.

The yard i keep mine at will do grass keep & put hay out & check on the horses for you for £10 each a week....& no im not telling anyone where it is lol :)

As this is a friend you are doing a favor for I would work out how much it costs you

As this is a very short term thing and you say the pony will not need hard feed and you have little grass then 2 bales of hay a week at say £4 a bale.If you need to feed the little one then a bag of pony nut or mix will cost about £10 per bag and the pony will not get through a bag in 3 weeks.

As this pony is with you and I assume you have your own horse etc checking the pony every day will not be any skin of your nose.

The cost I would say should be between £12.50p to £15 per week. This covers any damage that the pony may occur and the cost of the hay.
