Hi. I am looking for some info/recommendations for DIY yards in bolton area. I am moving down from Scotland and wondering what prices are like down in that area? Also if any one knows anywhere with space for two horses. Cheers.

Hi, I'm in Bolton - don't think the yard I'm on has any spaces atm, but there's Ryders Farm in Kearsley (about 10 mins drive), 01617940058
Unity Brook Farm just across from there, (can't find a number)
Wardley Grange Farm Stables (about 10 mins drive), 01617942195

For example, we're paying 15 pounds a week stable fee per horse, 2.50 a bale of hay and 2.00 a bale of straw

ETA - I know of the first three, learnt to ride at Ryders (its an RS too) unity brook is a private DIY livery yard, both have fantastic hacking - it is down a main road but you have access to the country park.
Wardley Grange is a very nice yard, I think there's quite a lot of hacking there too. Not heard of the last one I just googled it

Depends which side of Bolton you want but About 5 mins drive from Ryders Farm is Ringley Road West and theres about 6 DIY yards. We dont seem to have the best facilities round here but most have all year TO, most have a school. Im on a private yard and pay £25, £7 pw haylage and £5 shavings.
Some have direct access onto the Irwell Valley Bridleway, others are a few mins ride away.
