Looking to buy within the next year, a mother/daughter share....I'm doing my homework first because as my it will be my daughter's too, I am looking for somewhere that she will have some safe facilities to use. It's been about 10 years + since I've had a horse on livery so have not paid much attention to what's around. So local people where do you keep yours? Pros and cons and any suggestions...pm me if you prefer. She's having lessons at a lovely place and obviously I've considered there and will probably be my first choice. But I was just wondering if there are other places I should be considering.

I'm in the Clacton/Tendring area and know there's lots of yards about, as to how good they are I can't really comment as I've been at the same DIY yard for over 15 years!. :)

If you and your daughter are happy at the yard where she is having lessons, I think I would be tempted to stay there, at least while your daughter and the horse get used to one another, you know the instructors, facilities, other people on the yard etc and that way if there are any problems arising you know you have reputable help to hand - there's always lots of people willing to give the benefit of their experience on a DIY yard and we all tend to do things slightly differently, you could end up getting confusing/conflicting advice. ;):)

I get you, but I have always kept horses on DIY, so although I'm not a novice my daughter will be new to the ownership lark. The only thing putting me off where she is now is the cost, so I wanted to put feelers out to see if there was anything else around that I hadn't considered. ;)
