I may be moving to Guildford and need some advice on livery yards in the area. If I move I would be close to Worplesdon, so anywhere around here would be ideal, but not adverse to travelling.

I need to know the rough cost of livery in this area, how good hacking is etc.

It would be for 2 horses, possibly three if one doesn't sell in time; my mare (whom I ride) and my 2 yearlings (geldings). Ideally, I would prefer grass livery for them, but pay for a stable (for emergencies), or if the price was right I would pay to have DIY for both/three of them.

Does anyone know of any good livery yards with decent hacking - preferably minimal roadwork, school, good facilities (walker etc) in this area?

Thanks - apologies if it comes across a bit rambly; I am at work

There are lots of livery yards in the Worplesdon area. You are probably looking at about £100ish pw for full livery. It seems to be quite hard to find grass livery in the area, but if you do find somewhere I think you are looking at about £50pw all in.

DIY probably looking at around £25 per week.

Hope that helps!

I have just had a new livery arrive with me who came from Classford Farm in Worplesdon - Had been there 8 years and could not speak more highly of the yard manager. Only reason for moving yards was due to house and job move - Otherwise I think they would have carried her out in a box!!

She has paying £460 month part livery for 5 days per week...

But as mentioned above there are many many yards in the Worplesdon area....If you are in the area try popping into Rokers Tack shop directly opposite Merrist Wood College and have a nose on their notice board....

Theres loads of adverts in Rokers at the moment - I took pics of a few of them last week when I was looking, if you PM me your email addy I can send you what I have to have a look at, they are for DIY/Grass livery....

I rode a horse at clasford farm . Good facilitys , outdoor schools , stables turnout , jumping paddock , good hacking over loads of fields at the back . Friendly people . Nice stables . It is just off the main road .

Also merrist wood ( college) in worplesdone has a veriety of shows ect throughout the year .

There are plenty of other places aswell as clasford farm , especially just down the road in Pirbright , lots of grass livery yards and forest hacking
