Hello, I'm new to this forum and looking to find some Livery, Ideally DIY or alternatively field/yard to rent in Herts/Bed/Bucks borders ideally the areas around Redbourn Gaddesden Potten End, Water End or nearby. Possibly areas such as Dagnall or Ashridge. Ideally a menage with the Livery. Would appreciate any recommendations or PMs of nice yards- thank you.

thanks for the tips.... haven't found any with spaces though... any other yard ideas?

Might consider just grazing/field although a yard with school would be best. Suppose could stretch as far as Hemel Hempstead Berkhamstead and St Albans for a really good yard.

Thanks

If you want a small friendly yard (not bitchy/ultra competitive), Barley Mow on Hatfield side of St Albans is good.

But small, so not sure if any vacancies.

Manege is good, is usable all year normally, and there are floodlights on it. They do DIY and P/L (5 day). Grazing is OK, Turnout tends to be all day, in at night in summer, mornings -ish turnout in winter. NB if mare, can have 24 turnout in summer in a field down the road. Theres secure tack storage, kitchen/loo and lorry/trailer parking. Owners live next door and the yard is well secured as they have 3 or 4 lovely Rotties to patrol!

Lynn Myland is the YO/owner, PM me if you want contact details

Thanks very much for the info,

sounds very nice, might be a bit far on that hatfield side of St Albans, ideally looking for north side if that way as its on the very very edge of my search area but you never know.

Any others? DIY/part livery spaces are hard to come by!

There is a small DIY yard on Hammonds End Lane (just past the Golf course), Harpenden, on the road out to Redbourn next to the Rugby Club. The farmer down there is called Howard and I have heard great things about the yard :D
