Hi. I am starting at Sussex University this September. I am looking for a livery yard nearby to keep my 2 horses at, ideally on full livery. I cannot take a car so I need to be able to get there using public transport on weekends. Does anyone know of any suitable yards nearby? :) Shelley

Livery near sussex uni with public transport will be tricky. Best place to look is in the friday ad or on facebook look at sussex horse comunity. there are loads of nice good yards around there but not many with public transport. there is one in falmer village its self but dont think its all that big. Feel free to pm about any as i know the area quite well.

There are quite a few yards in the Lewes area but not sure about getting there on public transport. I know the station is very close but can't think of many yards near a station!

As loopylucifer says Friday-Ad and Sussex Horse Community on facebook are your best bet.

Actually can think of a couple of yards in walking distance of Plumpton station but think they are only diy.

Full livery our way could either be Newbarn rottingdean (along the falmer road) but I think they are full ATM (it's where my mare is) then you have jades rottingdean livery stables a bit futher along in the village they only have full livery there wether it be full grass or stable .. Then you have the big fields in woodingdean but they are only DIY .. You could try Eliza poultens yard in telescombe I'm not sure if they do full livery? Lewes way you have hamsey which has local buses .. Places like chestnuts are nice but they are out of the way for public transport .. Only 40/40x bus goes there an its expensive .. U could try south downs top of bear road but I think there just DIY

Aren't Chestnuts the ones on the A23 by the concrete pylons? I think its nearer Pyecombe. Would have to be a bus to there. If thats on a bus route what about Brendon, just a bit further up the road and a show centre too.

GypsyGirl - I'm sure Eliza advertises on Sussex Horse Community for liveries so she would definitely be worth trying.
