Hi there

I am still searching for a livery yard with space accessible from East London! Apparently Carlton House is very good - does anyone have their telephone number or is anyone able to recommend a yard with good facilities in the Loughton, Epping, Upshire area?? Help eek!

On another note..my potential horse being vetted this morning...am really nervous!!

Thanks!

Shame your not looking in south east london i have one space on a private brand new built yard with lots of grazing, sand school etc etc etc

I know there are spaces at Harolds Park Farm - very good facilities including XC course, livery service or DIY. It is a big busy yard.

I live in Wanstead and could be there by car within about 25 - 30 minutes.

HPF is at Bumbles Green which is between Waltham Abbey and Harlow. You can hack to the forest.

I was there for several years before moving to where I am now. Only moved as wanted to be on a smaller yard but would happily go back there if I were to move again.

I went to Harolds Park Farm but because I live in Mile End at the moment it is that bit too far - it took me over 45mins to get there. Nice place tho and great facilities for jumping etc which is what I really want to do!

Where have you moved to?

I am about 10 mins ride away at Epping Green - unfortunately Harlow, Epping and Waltham Abbey are all going to be about 45 mins away for you.

You could try Manor Farm at High Beech - but that is only 10 mins less than going to HPF and for the facilities at HPF, that extra time is worth it. Manor Farm is great if you are a happy hacker and want to be in the forest.

In the summer I can get from Holborn to the yard in 45 minutes but I am on a motorbike.

Have you considered doing as I am about to do - move out Harlow/Epping way?

Bit more commuting but closer to good yards.

Alternatively do you fancy a nice two bedroom flat with garage in Wanstead?

I really want to move further out but my boyfriend is having none of it so have been looking for a house in Wanstead as a compromise (and I love it there) but they are all really top end prices at the moment. Have been to so many yards but they are all full!!

I would reccomend my old YM.... but she doesn't do full livery anymore.... am having a blank for somewhere decent where you stipulate.

I have remembered Glyngates is in Upshire, and may have spaces

other than that may be worth taking a trip to Janette Moss in Watham Abbey and Yates feed merchants in Galley hill as they have a few livery notices on their boards

Gardens of Hanbury may still have places too. They are in Pynest green road, high beech.

There was a place I looked at in Epping... am wracking my brain for the name of it - near a pub called the owl... something green?

edited to say - just googled the pub and it was at Lippitts Hill...

Sorry - they were nice there - there was turnout as well...

Someone at Aldersbrook stables in E12 recommended them to me... But I decided to leave my horse in Suffolk (I was living in Bow then!) so I never actually moved him there..

Will think of the name...

Lippitts hill stables are still there dunno the prices or the phone number though.

Woodreadon is still there!!..... they do livery too.

I am still sat here wraking my brains..... shame I am at work and not at home as I have most of the numbers there too.

May be a thought emailing Epping forest riders assoc (EFRA) as they have contacts all over the area...... think you can google that site

ETA aldersbrook stable are at wanstead, used to live on the othersdie of wanstead flats to it!.... reasonable hacking, and after a short hack you can be into the lower end of Epping Forest
