Hi,

I'm in the process of moving to Bix, nr Henley. Does anybody know of any yards in the area?- I'm looking for DIY, but with the possibility of moving to assisted in the future (when nights draw in and I'm working!). I'd like a floodlit school and plenty of friendly people to go hacking with!
Also I'd prefer a place where horses aren't put in individual fields - I kept him in a yard like that for a short while and it blew his brain a bit - he needs play buddies otherwise he takes it out on me!
I'd be really grateful if you know of anywhere... or just want to say hi to a newbie in the area!
:-)

I have had a quick look in the yellow pages as I know there are a couple of small yards towards the nature reserve as I've hacked past them, but they don't seem to be in there, maybe just private yards so you might have to go there and ask. Or Friar park, just as you go into Henley, I looked there before I decided to keep my horse closer to home than to work.

There is actually a yard in Bix/Middle Assendon. I don't know if they have spaces but they do group turn out. They do have a school but I am not sure if it is flood lit. A friend of mine has kept her horse there for about four years on part livery but most are on DIY and is very happy.

I am at Stokenchurch which is probably too far away (although I do live in Henley), great people, fantastic riding but no school. Plus I know of another lovely yard in Pheasants Hill in the Hambledon Valley, again with no school but you can hack to one and very friendly.

Let me know if any are of interest and I can pass on details.
