There's a chance I may be moving to Sheffield soon. I've got a 6 month old so looking for grass/DIY with 24/7 turn out.

Anyone know anywhere/got any ideas on prices?

There is a fellow horse and hound forum member on here called Horseylass who has a lovely livery yard in Dore if that is any use ? It has large stables, an outdoor menage and 24/7 turnout. She also has some lovely young horses there so your horse would have some play mates. Not sure what she charges.

Not sure yet.....friend lives on City Road and I'll be bunking with her for a bit and working in the city centre.

That area is very central and I cant think of anywhere nearby thats livery/horse orientated. You would have to travel a fair way from there to somewhere horsey. I used to live in the Aston area and Parklands Equestrian Centre is there, maybe give them a ring and see if they can recommend anywhere. Best I can think of.

I'm struggling to think of anywhere that will take a foal, and has 24/7 turnout over the winter and does DIY. Where I am will do 24/7 turnout and is 3 miles or so from City Road, but there aren't any other youngsters for yours to play with and I don't know that the owners would be willing to take one on.

Issy, I take it you never came across Manor Farm which is very close to City Road, or saw the horses tethered on the sports pitches on Norfolk Park! I wish I hadn't either.

Annette, if someone is constantly advertising their yard and can't fill the spaces round here, there is generally a very good reason for that... I would suggest that you'd be better off looking for a field or private yard with youngsters that would take yours in, and that you or your friend do a tour of the local tack shops and feed merchants to have a look at what's advertised on the notice boards and put your own adverts up.

Best of luck finding somewhere suitable.

PM me if you want any more info not suitable for the open board!
