due to a new job (yey!!!) i need to move my horses from current yard to nearer new job or home.
ideally around Kidderminster/ Bromsgrove/ Stourport area.

need somewhere with good hacking, floodlit school and all year turnout. either assisted DIY or part livery.

all suggestions appreciated.

Hi have you tried New House Farm in Blakedown? Not sure what they offer but it's quite popular. Or there is Bissell Wood with good hacking and XC between Blakedown and Kidderminster. No room at my yard I'm afraid.

looked at Bissell Wood and not really for me- too busy and the school's aren't floodlit.

would prefer somewhere that is solely a livery yard, not a competition centre as well.

i like Lincomb but have heard on the grapevine that the people may be moving on soon

Try New House Farm. It's quite large but there is a good sized school. Not sure if it's floodlit though. Will ask at my yard to see what else is around the area.

Definately try New House Farm - I was there for 4 years and it had a few problems, but me and horsey were happy there! It's recently had a change of management, but don't let that put you off...LOL!

Great facilities (60x40m well maintained floodlit arena), well fenced paddocks (post & rail), hardly any mud (sandy soil), smallish grazing groups (max 4), auto waterers in paddocks and stables, grazing not fantastic (bit overgrazed sometimes, but that might have changed), secure tack rooms/storage, trailer/lorry parking, hacking good (lots of bridle paths and roads are quiet), even has a tack/feed shop on site. It's mainly DIY, but Jo (new manager) offers assisted DIY/services.

Hunter's Lodge is also OK (it backs onto New House Farm). I was at livery there for a few months before I sold my horse. Facilites aren't so good though.

I'd avoid Bissell Wood, but you can easily hack there from NHF and Hunter's Lodge (bout 20 mins off road hacking).

PM me if you want number for either NHF or Hunter's

Ditto New House Farm, I've never been on livery there but hack past occasionly when visiting a friend and have hired the school lots of times (didn't even realise it was floodlight lol). Jo, who I believe is running it now, is v nice and knowledgable - she does McTimoney on my pony and I'm a big fan of hers.

The only other places I can think of are Lincomb and Hartlebury RS - but again, have never been on livery at either have just used the school a lot.

Perhaps have a look in Equimix - I think they have a folder full of local livery yards.

Good luck with new job and yard
