YO decided tomove my two horses into a field previously grazed by two mares and foals, and move them into our field. That night got call to say one of my horses had what they thought was colic - sweating, rolling, kicking belly - all usual symptoms. Vet called and not colic, but some sort of allergic reaction to something - she wasnt sure. We can find nothing obvious in the field, but both horses are very unhappy about being in there, and little grass and what there is is sour and over-grazed. My mare has become agitated and unhappy being left in the field on her own - calling, walking the fenceline etc. In fact down right anxious in herself.

Thing is - how do I say to the YO I want my old field back without it becoming a personal attack on the state of their field. It isnt that - I just want my happy pony back. And I defo dont want another vets bill thank you v much. And as we pay livery surely we are entitled to what we consider (not her as her horse seems happy on the field) good grazing?

The allergic reaction must be a good reason? If your horse didn't react in the old field but does in the new one, there is presumably something growing there that doesn't agree with her. Would your vet advise keeping her out of the new field on the basis of the reaction? If the other mare is upset on her own then surely the YO won't want her pacing up and down and wrecking the ground?
