Hi everyone,
i just wondered, for those on you on part livery, how much does it cost if a member of staff turns out or brings in for you, and what would you say is fair? is £2.25 for a turn out a lot?
Thanks!

I thought it was only about £1 for turnout, not that I've ever had a horse in part livery. Does that include a change of rugs or just the turnout fee?

Sounds about right to me. I used to pay £2 for turnout at my old yard and that was 2 years ago now. Bringing in was an additional £2.

thanks everyone, ours has just gone up and i didnt know whether £2.25 was normal price or whether it was way over! it does include rug change if needed, but not hosing legs or picking feet etc. i wont get irritated then if that is what everyone is paying!

OMG I think that is quite a bit.
I went to look around a full livery yard once - They itemised everything - £1 to put a feed bucket over the door, a £1 per set of turnout boots etc. It got to be ridiculous............

For morning feed, put net in, change jarmies and turnout ... I charge £1. Same for evening too

I think it depends on the distance that the staff have to go to the field eg how much time does it take - if it takes half an hour then they have a right to charge for their time.

We have fields that are very far from the yard eg 15-20 minutes walk and they charge £10 as it can take an hour to bring in if the horses are at the far end of the field as it is a 20 acre field and quite hard work as part of the walk is up hill, personally don't blame as it is particulary hard in the winter or if it is raining, then for the fields on site it is £1.50 midway fields are £3.50, £5 and £6.

If you are on part livery I would expect it to be part of the package. I include turnout as standard throughout winter - in summer horses live out 24/7 so its not included.

if i have to bring in a DIY horse I charge £2.50 to bring in and pick out and remove/change rugs if necessary

I charge £1.50 week days & £2.00 Weekends/bank hols. this includes washing off legs but if they want rugs removing and feet picking out then its an extra £1.00/£1.50
