my dads looking for full livery around mauchline/Ayr/Kilmarnock/cumnock with an indoor school - probably a competition (sj) yard.
so far we've viewed Ayr equitation, woodside, lionsgate and barnock mill but none are really suitable.
can anyone recommend anywhere? someone mentioned galrig side farm but I can't find anything online (think the guys name was John mcgeer. he deals showjumpers?).
we've also found a place called muirmill that looks like a possibility.

any help appreciated (otherwise we will be stabling at ingliston which is an hour and a half away)
brownies for all :D

How bout Rosemount (think they've got indoor). It Jack McGeoch who owns Galrigside he is a dealer his yard not too far away from Muirmill. Have been hearing good things bout Muirmill think new owners done a lot to it so would be worth a look.
What bout Titwood in stewarton (not got an indoor-but its summer just now!!) or Thornhill (stewarton too)
If think of anywhere else wil PM u!!

Ok now you've got me thinking (& googling!!)

What bout Cawhillan livery in Ochiltree, Craigengillan in coylton, drumcoyle livery or Drumley in Mossblown-think a few of them got indoor

Or down into Ayrshire Tandleview(think shes got spaces at mo)

Murimill is a good yard. New owners are in the process of doing it up, indoor has just been resurfaced.

Another place to consider is George Babes yard, Darwhilling Farm, near Waterside, not even 5 minutes from the M77. A friend of mine keeps her horse there and loves it.

Hope this helps.

i heard that they don't take on many. we spoke to his daughter at woodside today.
I'll give it a go anyways - worst they can say is that they're full.
thanks :)

Hiya. try Rosemount which is off the M77 and also Thornhill in Stewarton - very nice and they have just built a load of new stables, i keep my horse at Stewarton Livery which has spaces but we don't have an indoor school!

Really depends what sort of competing you do - if you jump then somewhere like Woodside, Darwhilling or Galrigside would all be good for you (Jack and Isobel do livery as well as the dealing side), good facilities and all have really decent and experienced folk on hand to help. Drumley is owned by friends of mine - if you like a peaceful yard you'd probably like it there, and the hacking's not bad. I think Ayr RC do training there so you'd have that option to join in and it's dead easy from Ayr. If you like a busy, noisy, chaotic yard then where I'm based might do the job (though there's a riding school on site so doesn't suit everyone!). Grassyards has an indoor as well, it's just along from Darwhilling. I know a few folk stabling at Muirmill and they all really like it there, but what I would say is that it has changed hands a fair wee bit - that would worry me in case I ended up turfed out...

Racking my brains for other yards with indoors now!
