Hi,

Does anyone have any reviews on the following stables please?

Petersham Farm Stables
Park Lane Stables in Teddington
Slough Farm Stables in Claygate

Any views would be very much appreciated!

Thanks,

Lara

Hi there,

I am at Slough Farm - very big but friendly yard with acres of turnout. Good hacking too, and a big jumping field in the summer which is lovely. Floodlit sandschool for winter too.

Park Lane is related to Slough Farm but isn't so much a livery yard as a riding schoo, although I expect they would take a livery on. No turnout though which is the downside as the hacking is amazing.

If Petersham Farm Stables is where I think it is, the hacking from there is also amazing but I would imagine it might flood a bit as it's low ground near the river? Only a guess, I haven't been there before!

Good luck

Hi,

Thanks for your reply and all the useful info.

I really do like the look of Slough Farm and it seems reasonably simple to get to from SW London.

If you don't mind me asking, could you let me know how much livery costs where you are please? You can PM me if you prefer.

Thanks again,

Lara

It's definitely worth a visit - although bear in mind that Clay-gate has very clay-ey mud, and therefore looks a bit worse for wear at the moment! Marc and Claire who own it are lovely.
It's £170 pcm DIY, and there is a lovely lady at the yard who can effectively do full or part livery for you during the week for a very reasonable price!

Hi there,

Thanks for your reply - I really appreciate the help! It looks a really nice place and to be honest, I don't mind mud - I had my boots pulled off by the mud a few times at my old place!

One more question if you don't mind - is feed and bedding available to buy through the yard or do you have to arrange own deliveries?

Reason I ask is really from a time and not knowing that particular part of Surrey well point of view.

I'll give the yard a call anyway and see if I could visit. I've not got the horse yet but without a yard, I can't start the buying process off and I refuse to pay £800 per month stabling in London..!

Thanks again for your help - I was beginning to wonder if I'd ever find any possible places.
