Well iv been.offered a 3/4 acre field to rent from my livery owner as I need to.move my boy to join my 2 new horses :)
Its only 90pm for all 3 and it has a wodden shelter which can be used as a stable, brill hacking,i can use the liverys indoor & outdoor schools & its literally a min away from current livery (also my job) so fingers crossed il be moving my 3 there come june :)
Only thing is it has no water.. Theres a massive container to catch rain water with a tap but the nearest running water is 2 mins down road in car so looks like im going have to fill containers & use car, also theres no elec.
2 of mine live out 24/7 already but one im.moving from.livery is stabled overnight. He doesnt really like coming in so he'll be happy out but worried how he'll adapt just being chucked out 24/7...
Any advice/tips you guys have please share :) especially about rain/rugs etc lol

£90 a month is brilliant isn't it, I have 3 as well and it's so much cheaper to have them out. I still have 1 at a yard. Just make sure you have sufficient rugs to use whilst wet ones dry out. Had to rug my native for the first time this year due to the cold and wet. :D

All of mine live out at home, they have natural shelter and did well last year. The welshies wintered out unrugged and the fatty ISH only made it into a mediumweight. Agree about having a change of rugs is important.

Re: the water issue, although it SEEMS surmountable, be very sure of your plans - thinking of when it comes to very dry season etc you could be looking at carting water there 2-3 times a day maybe even more, even the biggest containers can be sumped on a hot day between evaporation and horses drinking.

We have no running water at home, but all our grazing is stream fed, but even that causes problems, when we strip graze the fields - so this advice is coming from someone who knows :(

As for the electric well we have no leccy at home and we get by - we can and do run the leccy from the house, but it's a potch - much prefer to have electric on hand, its only til you need it that you realise! Poulticing was fun, carrying water from the house (granted only some 20metres!)

I would go for it! The water will be a bit of a pain but sounds like your boss won't mind you popping over to check it, maybe you can get some sort of water container on wheels?! I do without electric, I should just get some nice bright portable lamps as its only getting caught after darkness falls that bothers me! Blundering about in a dark field gives me the heebeejeebies!

3/4 acre is not very much grazing for 52 weeks of the year, 24/7 turn out. Will you have the facility to rest it? Everywhere looks great at the moment but you could find yourself in a mud pit come the winter.

Less than an acre for 3 horses? Not really enough. The water will be a pest especially after riding for washing off etc, plus to be honest I only pay £200 for 15 acres, with water, people living on site a container and hard standing for the lorry. Plus access to power if neccasary.

We've had a yard with no water or electric.

The lack of electric is just annoying, especially when clipping or having a horse on box rest in the winter.

The lack of water requires one to be organized! Lots of good containers (with good lids!), a decent sized boot, and a willingess to drive up twice a day with it all

Do you mean 3 to 4 acres? Or 3 quarters of an acre?
I have approx 4 to 5 acres for my two and I really struggled with grass for the last 2 years due to the lack of rain. One field has water and the other doesn't. I do find it hard work transporting water to the one without, especially in this weather as it goes 'off' very quickly.
I don't have electricity, but a head torch is my best friend and I manage perfectly without.
For clipping, I just bought re-chargeable ones.
This year I gritted my teeth and left them I clipped and unrugged. They were perfectly happy and have beautiful summer coats now.
I pay £100 a month for the field that has water, field shelter and 2 sheds for storage. The other field I fenced myself with wooden posts and electric fencing it came with nothing and I pay £40 per month for that one.
Good luck, hope it all works out well for you :)
