Hello,

I've recently moved in Risinghurst (Headington) and I am looking for a yard in the area, preferably a grass livery or DIY or part livery but very reasonnably priced. I work in London and come home so late that I haven't got anytime to ride. My mare is very well behaved, she is currently near Bicester.
I would like something very close, Elsfied/Forest Hill/Horspath.

I've heard about Waterstock Dressage but it's too expensive, and Garsington did not have any room a few month ago (I should call again though). I've seen a place called Minchin Court when driving around, it looks nice but I could not find anything on the internet.

Any idea/info please fill me in, it will be very much appreciated.

Found this on tinterweb for you, don't know how current it is or what facilities they have

Remember it may be in your interest to travel a little further to find a yard with a good indoor school you can use in the evenings, especially in winter.

Thank you :), I will call them tomorrow.
I am not very picky about facilities and such, as long as fencing is safe and there are some bridleways within reach, although a covered arena with lights would be really nice.

I used to keep my horse here until I moved to Surrey:

Indoor and ourdoor schools, great hacking on the Ridgeway nearby and there are some really lovely liveries there :)
Sue and Rick who run the yard are really nice and very helpful, they do fun competitions and are very social.

I used to live in Headington and it's about 20 min down the M4, if you're coming back from London it could be quite handy. They do full, part and assisted DIY livery. I looked around for yards near Headington and couldn't find anything I liked, there are a few around Shotover, but not sure of names/numbers for them so perhaps a drive round to ask might be worthwhile?

Good luck finding somewhere.

i used to keep my pony over 20 years ago in horspath, only grazing though with plenty of riding
The grazing was owned by the farm at the top of cuddesdon hill in horspath i think they were called 'walker' also theres a diy livery half way on the same hill..well there used to be

sorry cant be more helpful

i know of some south of oxford maybe too far for you

Went to visit the place in Elsfield on Saturday and liked it, the lady just got a place available starting in October so I went for it.

But I am definitely keeping this address in Chinnor, it sounds lovely and not too far either (although I come back from London with the coach so can't stop before the park and ride).

I had been in touch with a lady renting fields in Garsington and Horsepath, I went to see the field in Garsington and it was a small overgrazed field fenced with barbed-wire, so no luck there.

Thanks for your help :)
