Hi, I have just got a job in Minehead and was wondering if somebody could recommend some good livery yards round there that I could go and look at please?

Ideally would be DIY, or somewhere that isnt too expensive. Facilities wise I event my horse so would like it to have a decent sized school, floodlights and jumps. Horse is fairly easy going and so less bothered about stabling/turnout conditions.

Thanks

This place is a few miles from Minehead(here on Exmoor distances do become stretched!) but it has great facilities, I think they have PP for a big outdoor arena, which knowing them will be of a very high standard.
Excellent grazing(all year) luxury stabling and helpful, knowledgable friendly and professional staff.
There is also a cross country course over the road.I only left because I now have my own grazing and have moved 35 miles away(a bit far even by Exmoor standards!)
I can pm you more yards in the area if you want something really close to Minehead. There are many styles of horsemanship on Exmoor,so it depends what sort of 'feel' you are looking for.
If you want any more local info, let me know.

Hi, welcome to Minehead! You may already have noticed it isn't overburdened with livery facilities! I know there is a yard near Timberscombe which has show jumps and an indoor school (I think it's called Little Oak) but not sure if they do DIY livery. I used to have riding lessons at Porlock Vale. They had two indoor schools, jumps and a cross-country course. The riding school closed and they went over to liveries, so might be worth getting in touch with them. I think Mr. & Mrs. Youd run it now. Will ask around for you!
