Am I looking for the impossible?

I spent all weekend driving around the Bushey/Watford/Elstree area looking for livery....and found nothing. Everywhere either has perfect facilities but is 'live off 6p noodles for ever more' expensive. Or it's affordable but not got the facilities needed (I.e. nice sand school and jumps, turnout, sturdy stables).

Any suggestions or hidden gems in the area?

Part or full livery for a large horse. Happy to go the other side of the m25 if needed.

Any help would be amazing. I can't buy my dream horse without a home for him/her :-(

Try Elstree/Borehamwood/Mill Hill area.
South Medburn Farm Elstree
Strangeways Stud Farm, Cross Oaks Farm, Earls Farm in Borehamwood
Mote End Farm in Mill Hill

I did try to find harts farm....but I couldn't physically find it! I followed the sat nav to their apparent address and there were just houses. There was one stable type place nearby but there were no signs and I couldn't work out if it was the right place so I just moved on tbh

There is a fab yard that I used to livery at, but for the life of me can not think of its name. Run by a lovely lady called Carole - will come back to you when I can remember.

Just remembered a bit more - it is near Buttlers Green farm shop. The shop is on the right, go a bit further down the road and the yard is on the left - if you get to the pub you have gone to far. Wish I could remember the name of the yard!!

In the Radlett area which I know fairly well as I used to livery round there

Model Farm/Blackbirds Farm
Hill Farm
Little Munden
Houndswood
Wild Farm
Netherwylde
Winslo

I would go and visit even if they say they have no spaces as if they're right for you, you can go on a waiting list and the best yards are generally always full.

Ellenjay i think you mean the top yard at the Fruit Farm, i dont think Carole runs that anymore and the fruit farm is DIY only but is a fab yard with lots of grazing and a good school.
sd183, have you tried Blackbirds or Model farm they are in Aldenham which is very near Patchetts. i know that Coursers Farm has a vacancy coming up for DIY but they do services. Caldecot livery is another which is part or full.

There is also a yard in Harper Lane but i cant remember the name!!!!!

hope this helps !

Harts farm is the big white gates where the gps takes you to in housing area, no signs outside but if you peer through gates will see stables. Its good for the price, major issues like all places and you need a very thick skin like many bitchy yards, but some people there are lovely and theres never a dull moment. I think its better for your horse than some others local (pm me if you want the one to avoid)
