Hi Everyone,

I'm wondering if you can help me. I work in the city and am looking for a livery yard that I can access by public transport as I dont have a car. Turnout and hacking is a must, an indoor school would be ideal too. Looking for DIY livery.

I don't mind which direction I travel in so long as it's relatively close and I don't have to walk for long to get there.

Thank you for your help.

I can't recommend it one way or the other, but Trent Park in north London does livery. It's 5 minutes walk from Oakwood station (Picadilly line). I'm not sure whether they offer DIY but you could ask, and the facilities and hacking are pretty good.

The other option that springs to mind is Bury Farm in Edgware. It definitely does DIY (with freelance grooms available), has okay hacking, 24hr t/o in summer and dawn to dusk in winter, and an indoor school. However, it is a good 20-25 min walk from Edgware station, though there are buses that would take you half way if you got the timing right.

I only know the area north of London so I'm sure there are others. You oculd try asking in New Lounge as more people post there :)

Depends on how far out you want to travel. Wimbledon Village stables has DIY and great hacking. But no turnout on site - the horses go to fields in Claygate every few weeks. (They also usualy have quite a waiting list I'm afraid.)

If you can manage a mainline journey our of London there are 5 yards in the Claygate / Esher Area in easy reach of the train stations - 30 mins from Waterloo.

Stag Lodge in Twickenham? Or Kingston Riding Centre? I don't know very much about either other than they are closer to London!
