Livery Yard Opening Times

Mine doesn't really have any. They mentioned in the rules that 9pm was latest, but I think that was more of a formality than a proper rule. I'm not up until after 8pm in the winter, usually leave at 9ish. I couldn't be on a yard that closed at 7 or something stupid like that! I'm only really late if I have something on, or if I get chatting to YO!

ours doesnt have any timescale either.YO parents live in the farm next to the yard but they are far enough away so we dont disturb them, that is until you walk past there back entrance and the flippin dog starts barking even though she knows who we all are!

at current yard we can go up whenever but we haveto respect neighbours (no on-site owner) although we are asked to contact YO if returning late incase she has a call from neighbours people normally go up around 6am & are there till 8pm

new yard they dont really want people up any earlier than 6:30am as they have a son but you can be on yard till 8/9pm although they prefer you to just go up & do what you have to do at that time - no riding etc

on my yard now there are no rules for times, i generally get there about 5.30am each day

my last yard had rules of no earlier than 6.30 and no later than 7-8pm
both yards have owners living on site

No time restrictions on our yard. We're all given our own key and come and go as we please. I'm the earliest on the yard in the week, about 6.10 am so unlock the outer gate. Most of the liveries are usually ridden/done by 7pm. Last one to leaves locks up. YO lives less than ¼ mile away in the village.

I work at a rebhabilition yard and we have part liveries, we start the yard at 6.30 so liveries can come from then on, although only one really comes in the morning and the rest late afternoon and evening. The horses have din dins at 5.30, if a livery is riding it is therefore their responsibility to finish theirs up so we don't disturb the rest of the ponios!

The only stipulation on our yard is no-one before 7am - unless you have cleared it with yo first, and not on a regular basis. In other words if you have a show etc etc whenever you want but he doesnt want people up there at 5.30am every morning doing their horses. They live on site and you have to go straight past their house to get to the yard.
Most people have left the yard by 7pm anyway - although their are a couple of liveries who can still be there at 8.30pm - that isnt a problem at all.

Thank you all for your interesting replies. We decided to impose closing hours a while back to give the horses some peace and quiet as much as ourselves. Our first liveries arrive at around 6am, and the last to leave were getting later and later - well past 11pm on occasion. We have over 30 liveries so giving everyone a key is not ideal, and it is not easy to relax until we know for sure the horses are all settled, the alarm is on and the gate is locked. We now close at 10pm weekdays, and 7pm Saturdays and Sundays. If anyone is at a show, or has a sick horse allowances are of course made. I just wondered how other yards operated in this respect. Thanks again.
