Hi all,
Am moving from one end of Glos to the other in a month or so.. Ponio currently in Maisemore area.
Am moving to just past Hardwicke - just off the bypass, or M5 J 12 so looking for a livery yard within the area.
I know of Summerhouse, but not that keen due to the lack of turnout.
Not too fussy, would like a school and decent turnout - am DIY, dont want somewhere that dictates which vet/farrier/instructor/hay I can have though!
Can anyone reccomend anywhere or the opposite!! Pm if prefer, thankyou!

I can recommend a few in the stroud and cirencester areas, but that is probably too far for you? How close to hardwicke does it need to be?

Hi , am actually moving to the new build estate in Kingsway - just wasnt sure if people would know where that was. I dont really want to travel much further than 15 mins, not sure how far stroud is from there?

You could try www.billowfarmlivery.com (I was there before relocating to the West Mids)

There'a also a yard just off the slimbridge roundabout (can't remember the name)

Haven Homes tends to have quite a few adverts for livery in around that area.

ORv think that livery yard will be abit far, but thankyou, where is the Slimbridge roundabout?
Binky01 that could work - do you remember the name?

In hindsight it maybe a bit too far for you if you want somewhere a few miles away, about 3 miles south from junct 13

hi there is a nice yard in Selsley that i am at it has great facilities (indoor and outdoor schools, xc course and schooling field,sj paddock in the summer and beautiful hacking) and all year round turnout, the other liverys arent too bad either! Its approx 10 miles from hardwick is that to far?

I've just asked my mate if she still has the number for upton...it was 8 years ago lol!
I know there's about 8-10 outdoor stables and an indoor monarch yard of about 15-20 inside, plus grazing, plus outdoor school and jumps and good hacking :)

Hi Hannah I am in your area and recently did a trawl of livery yards and I know where Kingsway is. Here are some of your options:-

Summerhouse - does DIY Livery no easy access to good hacking as Dual Carriage way runs beside it but there is a quiet lane runs beside it. No Winter turnout at all. Restricted turnout in summer. Large Outdoor arena (Olympic) Two indoor schools liveries get to ride Weekends between 1 and 2 and weekdays half a school available between 5 and 9 you cant book it as lessons are i other half and have to fit in round Comps and Competition horses being worked.

Wisloe - down A38 at slimbridge roundabout individual turnout paddock outdoor school lovely stables some hacking.

Billow Farm livery - you already have listed good feedback on yard schools and hacking.

Richard Chapmans - again you already have listed havent been there but have friends their.

www.hollowfarm.co.uk - cant sing their praises enough. I moved to this yard recently and if it wasnt for the fact that due to confidence issues and family problems I am selling my horse I would still be there. Individual turnout paddocks well managed well maintained friendly liveries lovely outdoor school and lots of hacking. Owners are great horse jumped out of paddock demolished top rail of fencing and 2 hours later it was repaired wih no complaints.

That yard looks great, I bet an indoor was amazing last winter, and at £40 inc hay it looks a bargain.
Also nice to hear someone saying nice things about their DIY yard ;)

Just rang Hollow Farm and sounds very nice - but no spaces atm unfortunately but going to go and have a looksie and go on a waiting list anyway. Also keen on the Richard Chapman one but dont know how much livery is there.

Hi, i live just down the road from hollow farm and keep my horse there and we love it. i wouldnt rate richard chapmans im afraid. its not bhs registered and theres too many people there i think, its £25 a week inc hay and straw i think

hope this helps

Hi, don't know of Richard Chapmans yard personally but a friend moved there a couple of months ago and after looking on the website i gave him a call. Can't remember exactly how much he was but it was around £100 a month which i thought was good considering the facilities he has. I didn't go and view it because he only had one space and i wanted to move 3. They have hunter trials there on the 9th May so may be worth going and having a look then. The other thing that slightly put me off was that it was quite a big yard as he said he had space for 40 horses! I would give him a call he was very helpful and said to come up and have a look anyway even though he didn't have space for all of mine at the moment.
There is also a yard in Witcombe, about 5mins from J11a, not sure if that would be too far for you though?
