Hi all,

So I've finally found a lovely house in Hinton, 9 miles north of Bath, paperwork is currently being done, we pick up keys mid June.

I'm looking for a livery yard within 20 mins of Hinton or the northern side of Bath. Flood lit school with a good surface is an absolute must. Need assisted/part full livery due to work hours. Access to good hacking.

Also- until I find the right horse, does anyone know where is good to go and have lessons? Eventing based teaching preferred. I'm am new to the area so have no horsey contacts. I know Alice peternell's yard is in Hinton but would prefer eventing types rather than big moving WBs!!

Thanks all xxx

Have you tried Ford farm which is in Hinton I would highly recommend it. A couple have it and she competes dressage and he competes eventing both to a high level. It has fab facilities and they did offer anything from diy to full to assisted livery. There website is dressage Hinton

Don't even consider if year round turnout is important to you, no access to grazing between September and March, depending on the weather. Schools often in use for private lessons or showing horses for sale. Far too many rules and regulations, some petty, such as not being able to graze in hand over the winter, except for in a specified area. Long standing liveries so used to a high turnover of liveries weren't welcoming or inclusive. Couldn't leave fast enough, I started to dread going up there.

Check out Livery List, there were a couple north of the motorway junction there that did part and full livery with riding around the Badminton estate, but were full and had waiting lists when I was looking (winter), at this time of year you might be lucky.

I'm probably a bit biased, but Alice is an old buddy of mine - Ford Farm is lovely - it's got indoors and outdoors schools, and if you ever need a hand with your flatwork/dressage - she's fantastic!
