I'm moving to Cheshire in the next couple of months around the Chester, sandbach, frodsham area, haven't decided which area yet depends on where I find a suitable livery yard :)

I'm looking for a yard that has good facilities pref with a xc course, I'm looking at smallwood livery this afternoon because of the fab xc course, I only ride at a unaffiliated level and looking to do intro, I want somewhere where people don't take themselves too serious and just want to have a bit of fun at local shows

any ideas?

Btw, alsager /has/ a XC course but I was there for 2yrs nearly and it was only ever in use twice, when they opened it up. This is because it runs through the turnout paddocks so obviously it means all horses staying in & fencing being sorted etc :)
Arclid now has a farm ride/XC schooling/gallops and the works doesn't it?? I'm sure I looked at the site not long ago but it's changed?! So confused  I'm sure if so it only does full livery though?

My Arab mare went on loan to a girl who lived in Frodsham last year, and they were on a yard in a nearby village (I'm really sorry, but I can't remember the name!) and it had a farm ride plus XC course. The XC course wasn't huge but it was in a MASSIVE field that had a ride track around the outside and a gallop track up the middle - you could ride in it any time of year and it was the biggest field I've ever seen in my entire life. If you were stood at one end, you couldn't see the other! I really loved riding there, I just wish I could remember the name of the yard!

We used to be at Arley Moss Equestrian Centre. They have an all weather gallop that the local point 2 pointers use, schooling cross country jumps, 3 outdoor schools, an indoor school and a showjump arena. I think they only do DIY livery now .....

huntington hall livery chester very nice ( except there is usually a wait list ) plenty of very friendly fellow eventers and cross country course currently in the planning stage but likely to be built.
Curently solid jumps available to practice over. Lovely big arena and horse walker too.

Arley Moss Equestrian do DIY livery and have a limited number of full liveries. The Full livery used to be run by outside people however is now under the same Management as the DIY. The owner is very approachable and the facilites fantastic. As per an earlier post the point to pointers no longer use the gallops, the facilites are, in the main, for the liveries to use. They hold some show jumping clinics and a monthly dressage.

I can give Sommerford Park a big thumbs up for facilities. We find it the best in the area for facilities and they are always really friendly and helpful.
