Does anyone know of a livery yard in the Ilminster to Bridgwater area that they would recommend? Would also be interested in ones to avoid (PM).
I currently have my horse at a yard that I'm relatively happy with, but there are a few issues (e.g. zero off-road hacking) and I am also struggling a bit both time and money-wise since having my daughter (now 2 yrs old). My work has just announced we are moving from Taunton to Bridgwater (M5 J23, near the huge Morrisons distribution centre) in September which means my current yard on the Blackdown Hills goes from being handily on the way to work (from nr Ilminster) to miles in the wrong direction, which isn't going to help the time issues! I haven't really looked around since I bought my horse 4 years ago, so thought it was worth checking out what was available.
I need assisted DIY / flexible / part livery as I can only make it to the yard once a day, also can't have my horse out on good grazing 24/7 as he is a very good doer with a talent for removing muzzles. Some kind of surfaced yard / poor grazing would be ideal, but he is currently stabled during the day and that could continue. Not really interested in facilities like jumps etc but do need somewhere to school / lunge and I sometimes have to bring my daughter with me so can't have somewhere with a "no kids" rule.
