Hey guys, this is my first post so sorry if I've not done something right or put this is the wrong place.

I live on Castle Vale, in Birmingham, and I'm looking to move my horse closer to home. He's a 14.2 gelding, currently in his own paddock but has shared previously and gets on well with others. He's very well behaved.

Stable and a school will be needed. Preferably with decent hacking as we do like to hack.

Looking for anywhere in the following areas, but cannot seem to find any:

Water Orton, Sutton Coldfield, Shenstone, Chelmsley Wood, Erdington way, Coleshill, Kingsbury, or anywhere else nearby.

If anybody knows of any, and knows the phone numbers, if you could let me know that would be greatly appreciated, as my current petrol bill is way too much!

Thank you :)

Bourne Vale riding school in Streetly. Non i should imagine in Erdington. Try looking up tack shops in yellow pages and popping in to see them, i know theres one near Mere Green in Four Oaks.

I've tried looking in a few tack and feed shops. Only ones I've found so far are full. Looked at Lea Marston yesterday, liked it but I don't like how when the clocks go back the horses have to be in by 2. :( Thank, will give Nether Whitacre a call :)

Do not under any circumstances go to lea marston, I don't know a single person there who is happy and the person that runs it should not be allowed near animals....nether whitacre is ok until you decide you need to leave....

I wouldn't go to Lea Marston because when the clocks go back they have to be in at 2. I can't do that. And Nether Whitacre don't do DIY. :(
Any other suggestions?

There's one just above Water Orton, on Marsh Lane/Coleshill Road. Looked there when searching for yards, on top of the hill as you cross the bridge over the M42 going into Curdworth from the A446.

Water Orton Livery Stables. 01675 470725

Be about 3 miles from Castle Vale.

I know both yards & agree with what has been said about both Lea Marston & Nether Whitacre.

Nether whitacre was always DIY with a groom on site who would turnout, bring in clip etc if you needed it & you'd pay according to the services used. It must have changed over the last few years.

Isn't there a small DIY yard in the middle of castle vale? A friend of mine used to keep her horse there.

There are a couple of small yards in wishaw (just past minworth so 10 mins in the car) The Knoll is one of them but can't remember the name of the other but it's opposite a riding school.

Also a few in four oaks, Middleton, little hay....loads of small yards if you go towards Aldrige way too :)

Or you could go tamworth way, lots round there too.

PM me if you want some more info x

We moved off in july because we got our own place and but it was all DIY then and had been for years (as wed had been here previously before moving to full livery)

Derry Farm used to have a waiting list as it was so popular where its situted, I know the groom and shes a v good horsewoma, dont know if its changed but never used to have individual tuenout
