Livery yards in west yorkshire

Hi!
I am looking for a livery yard that does DIY/Part in the west yorkshire area. Probably between halifax, huddersfield, dewsbury, wakefield area if anyone can help? I may also look at places to the north of leeds and towards the A1. (My job is going to be in Barnsley from September). I have two very easy going mares, one retired, the other i like to hack with and do a bit of dressage. Thank you!

Well, I know plenty in the Wetherby area but not so many your way - other than Westfield Park but I don't know a lot about them.
 
That's a very wide area. I would suggest that you narrow it down considerably, or you will spend an awful lot of time travelling. I am assuming you are new to the area. Will you be living near Barnsley? I travel from Huddersfield to Dewbury every day and it takes a minimum of 3/4 hr. The traffic along the M62 corridor and surrounding area is horrendous. The journey from Barnsley to north Leeds would take a minimum of 1 1/2hrs in rush hour traffic, so if you are doing DIY you will have some very long days.
 
I have a small friendly 10 horse yard in village of monk fryston which is 3miles from A1 north 1 junction north of M62 at ferrybridge not sure if this would fall into your preferred area please feel free to contact me
 
Hi Thank you LadyT dor the reply, Wetherby is unfortunately out of my way a bit. Thank you too yeeharider for your offer of looking at your yard,. I have already seen a lovely little yard in South Milford, however I would have had to move there earlier than i had wanted. And thank you too Pearlsasinger for your advice. I should probably limit my search to dewsbury/mirfield area as the travelling is getting rather large! I am reasonably new to the area and just in need of finding a really nice little yard. Thank you all for your help.... any more suggestions also welcome!
 
In Mirfield there are a couple - Hopton Horse Centre and Calder something or other - sorry I can't remember the name of it, it's by the golf club in Mirfield off Sands Lane! Hopton is full at the moment (it's where I'm based) but you could always ring and ask about waiting lists. There's also one at Midgley which is nearer to Wakefield but only about 5 mins from Jct 38 of the M1/backroads to Barnsley. I'll pass it tonight and try and look out for the actual name and post later on. Sorry call it old age, my memory is shot!
 
Hi there, I know of a yard near Pudsey/Bradford that does DIY/Part and Full. Is in a good quiet area for hacking and has arena, lots of (all year) turnout, mares and geldings seperate and.... no bitchiness! Run by Sue and Sarah- Jane Stephenson, called Uplands Livery, could't recommend it enough.
