Think I might be asking the impossible but does anyone have any livery yard recommendations with good hacking and all year round turn out within 45 minutes of Stratford east London. Looking to move my horse who is recovering from an injury some where further out so he can hopefully do more hacking once he is up to it! Would be particularly interested if anyone has any contact details for little Tawney farm as have heard that the turn out there is good but can’t find anything about it online

I never used to hear good things about Vicarage Farm - that would have been 4/5 years ago, so may be worth checking if the management's changed.

For good hacking, yards around Epping are your best bet. Unfortunately, however, a lot of them aren't particularly accessible by public transport - although Nightingale Stables is, and they're quite a bit more south than most yards with hacking into Epping Forest so quicker commute. That said, I can't vouch for the turnout. The ground on the east sides of London is mostly clay so turnout can be limited.

Otherwise, I know there's Forest Farm EC near Romford, good facilities, has hacking to the local country park, again not sure about turnout as I've not got many connections with yards Essex way.

More centrally, Aldborough Hatch Farm does liveries I believe - also accessible by a central line station. Think there's some people on the London Horse and Pony FB group that stable there so worth posting there.

Little Tawney farm would be a nice yard (in my opinion).
There are quite a lot of nice yards in Upminster that would have better hacking than those in Romford/Ilford direction, would this be too far?

It sounds like it has good turn out in a good location for hacking but I can’t find any contact details for it!

that way would be fine, just needs to have good turn out and hacking really and not some crazily long drive. Have come to the conclusion that our current yard is too central to have a semi-retired/mostly happy hacker!

Doesn’t have to be near public transport. Have heard mixed things about forest farm in regards to turn out but it looks very nice on there website!

Not sure if this is an old contact for them but this is all I can find for them: https://local.standard.co.uk/company/438373227417600

I used to work that way on so know of a few yards - are you looking for DIY or part, full?

Ideally part or full but will consider DIY if can have services occasionally if can’t find any where that ticks the boxes that is part or full

Try Sandpit Stables, they're about 5 mins off the A12/M25 roundabout (Sandpit Lane, Pilgrims Hatch) Nice yard and they have hacking into Weald Park. I don't have the yard owners number unfortunately but I *think* it's on their gate if you took a drive down there!

Is little tawney farm Padfields? Only that i If that area is good for you, you may also want to consider the water tower, littlebury hall, wood farm, bower farm which are all down that long road close by, all have decent turnout and hacking.

If you go Brentwood way a little further there are more options still, and Upminster opens up even more.

Forest farm has very limited turnout hardly anyone turns out in winter, and hacking is not great you have to go on a busy main road to get to Hainault Park, its got great facilities for schooling got an Olympic outdoor and an indoor school.

If you want great turnout and hacking your best bet is The orange tree and the water tower at Stapleford abbotts both owned by the same people they live on site at the water tower.

The orange tree has no school but you are a 2 minute road hack onto the bridleway into the country park, the water tower has a school and is opposite a bridleway.

Yes is that little tawney, I have heard it does all year round turnout but have not got any contact details (although hoping the number posted above is correct/up to date). Will have a look at the others especially littlebury as have heard lots of good things about that. Do you have any suggestions for Brentwood way?
