There is a suspicion that flies have a role in the spread of sarcoids but how a yard could devise a policy for that deteats me. Ban flies? Chuck any horses that develop sarcoids off the yard?

There is some research to suggest that a virus may be responsible for some forms of sarcoids and can be transmitted by flies. However this is not proven and not the only cause and finally in the case of the tests the horses mostly developed a resistance to the virus after time and the sracoids simply disappeared so not a problem.

Sarcoids that don't go and don't respond to treatment are therefore considered a cancer and is not transmittable.

So no yard policy is neccessary.
