Hi,
I'm looking to bring my horse down to university but am struggling to find a livery yard thats easy to get to by public transport.
I'm living on the university park campus and from looking at bus routes it seems south west of the city (to the west of the river) is the easiest area for me to get to but i'm starting to think there are no livery yards this side of the city!
I need somewhere that does part livery ie. feed and turnout in the morning, with the option of full livery if I have any full days at uni or when I go home. I would consider full livery if it were the only option. Good turnout - 24/7 in summer (although mine only goes out at night) and some winter turnout, turnout in small groups (not individual) is preferable as my horse can be a pain to catch.

Thankyou :)

There is St Leonards Riding school and livery at Chilwell, so not far from the university. I have never been though, so I dont know what its like.

Another one thats on a bus route is the West Bridgord Equestrian Centre, but stay well clear of it.

Thanks :)
I've been warned about west brigeford already.
St Leonards is on the bus route so worth a look.
It's really difficult when you don't know the area, at home I know tons of yards and which are nice and which to steer clear of.

Contact the Uni riding club direct... they'll be able to tell you where they train, where they go for special events and hacks, and where to steer clear of.

I used to work near Chilwell and there was a place there that did livery, I assume its the RS mentioned above.

Never went it, but looked ok, seemed to have plenty of fields, and horses not crammed together in tiny muddy fields.

It may have changed in the last few years but St Leonards Riding didn't have a good reputation when I lived around there although its only half an hour max from the uni on the bus. PM if you want more info.

There's Long Lane Equestrian at Kegworth. Some of the Indigo 5 (or whatever they're now called) go out that way (used to be the airport ones).
