Happy where I am for the minute (total DIY) but thinking of putting my boy on part-livery/assisted DIY - somewhere with staff anyway, and changing my hours at work - I'm a nurse so I work shifts.

I'm after somewhere with all year TO 24/7 for as much of the year as possible, big stables (pone has arthritis so he needs to move about.) Reliable/flexible assistance and a good surfaced all weather floodlit school plus decent hacking. Oh and lorry parking.

Am willing to pay for the above obviously I know it won't be cheap. I live in Halesowen so looking at Clent/Romsley/Bromsgrove/Hagley etc... Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi

I'm in Halesowen too. Got a few suggestions for you if there help...

There's Bissell Wood in Blakedown, big yard but good facilities, all weather floodlit schools (outdoor), excellent hacking & has staff but not sure about lorry parking? There's New House Farm in Blakedown too, again a huuuuge all weather floodlit school & nice stables. They're only taking part liveries at the moment i think (if there's spaces left) and def has lorry parking. There's Helen Blair's in Romsley (north worcs equestrian centre) but i dont know if they do part livery anymore? It might just be full now.

Dont know if these would be a bit far for you but theres Gothersley farm near Kinver. I had mine on there for a couple of years & it's a nice enough yard. Outdoor school (not lit though) but has indoor too so can ride in the dark, excellent hacking & def lorry parking. Does DIY, assisted or full liv. Debdale EC in Caunsall also have liveries, i think technically it's DIY but i know they will do stuff like T/O, bring in etc... Has outdoor and indoor schools and great hacking too. (i rode there loads when i was younger)

Will add if i think of any more :-) PM if you want any more details on any. xx

Hi i normally just read this forum but have joined as i used to keep my horse in that area.

The ones i can think of are Giles Stables on the dual carriageway, there number always used to be on BHS website. they were by the four winds pub.

There is a yard in Hartle Lane too, just as you turn off dual carriageway it's on your right. begins with a H but i can't remember the name of it.

also a yard in belbroughton, Nash Lane although DIY there is a lady who does stuff for you if you need her to.

back on the main road there is Simon's yard at the bottom of Walton hill. think it's walton farm it's called.

up in clent there's lindy lees (who i think has built new stables and has 2 free), there's Fox Farm just past jackie roberts' there's Dancers down on the dualcarriageway opposite lutley lane. there's bibbey's just off the dual carriageway. not sure if tack farm (opposite bibbey's) does livery.

Tony Wren used to do liveries - highfields is it?

there also used to be a lovely yard in quantry lane - just by the manchester inn and the "back" of clent. it was an instructor called Emma who used to run that. also a yard opposite the Manchester Inn too, begins with D can't remember the name.

and of course penorchards at the top of hagley wood lane.

oh and hunters lodge near bissell wood.

hope they help, x
