Im looking for another horse and havent sorted out livery yet as I dont want to go back to old place. Ive seen 2 but cant decide:

One is where an old acquaintance is, hacking is good, good floodlit menage, about 20 horses there, good hacking, not sure how bitchy it is, reasonable rates, yard owner will turn out in morning, mares and geldings are separate, fields have good fencing. But its about 15 miles from my house. The furthest away Ive ever been.

Second one, has no current spaces has about 15 stables, good menage, turnout is okay not as good as no 1, hacking isnt great either, cheap rates but completely DIY and again not sure about bitchiness.

There is another one not too far from me but no hacking apart from 1 route, small turnout groups, not sure how expensive, has good menage apparently (not seen it myself).

Yeah I was thinking maybe no 1 but cant make a decision. I need decent hacking esp. if Im going to be getting a youngster (maybe getting one).

Thanks

Oops! I wouldn't go with any of those. I think 15 miles is too far. It will take up too much of your time travelling and cost too much in petrol.

Def keep looking.

apparently yo will turn out for free in mornings which saves a bit on petrol. Theres just nothing round here. Id love to rent a field but wont be able to with 1 horse.

First one for sure. My current yard is 13 miles away and I only go once a day as YO turns out in morning and will bring in in evening if needed so I just need to muckout/ride etc. The distance/petrol is ok if you have a helpful YO and things like facilities and hacking does matter especially in winter. I'm on the look out for a new yard as the arena isnt doing well with the wet weather already and the hacking isnt great either.
