hello everyone, I've been on my current livery yard for 6 years and never had a problem and always got on well with the owners , after loosing my old horse a while back I got my new youngster, my problem i have is that the yard owners have started giving me the silent treatment and watching and judging me every time I ride!! Its making me hate being down there, its only seemed to happen since getting my new boy!! Please help It feels like I have no one to talk to xx

That doesn’t sound nice. Did anything happen before the silent treatment started? It seems strange that you had a good relationship for 6 years and then things have turned nasty for no reason. Have you been having problems with your new horse? I appreciate many people do not like confrontation but if I was you I’d have to ask them what the problem is. If it’s stopping you enjoying riding and going to the yard you need to address it. You are a paying customer and don’t deserve to be treated like that so take the bull by the horns and speak to them. You can’t find a solution if you don’t know what the problem is. Good luck!

Thank you so much, my new boy is a youngster and he is very vocal they keep making comments on how different he is from my last horse , then they can go days with not even talking to me , not even a hello !!! Its very frustrating, I'm trying to ignore it but Its getting more harder xx

I think you need to bite the bullet and ask them if there’s anything wrong. Does your horse cause problems? Perhaps it’s the horse they don’t like.
I'm thinking they don't like my new boy, he's very different from my last horse , he doesn't cause problems he's just very vocal and he likes people to know he's around he's only 5 and very green xx

If he’s a particularly nice horse, could they simply be envious? Jealousy and envy make people act in very strange ways ?‍♀️

Someone did mention this to me, my farrier said he has lots of potential and we will go for with each other . I suppose I'm being to over sensitive but its gotten to the point I'm going down early morning to ride just to avoid them x

Having run my own DIY yard for 25 years, believe me, this is a strong possibility ?
