Anyone have these? Wanting some clippers to fully clip my fairly fuffy New Forest 2-3 times a year. Would these be suitable?

Liking the price tag at just over £100 for the corded ones!

They're ok. Not much 'grunt'. Can cope with my wb if he's not too hairy, struggle otherwise, even on fresh blades (and he's very much a 'blood' type so not course hair). Hate the positioning of the on/off switch, I'm forever turning them off accidentally.

Pros: light, easy to hold (I've got small hands), and the cordless ones were a godsend with the above warmblood

I only really use mine for trimming up now, prefer to borrow proper clippers or pay someone else to clip!

I had some for my RID mare who had a very mammothy type winter coat. I used them off the battery pack not the mains and they took an age to do a bib clip even with brand new blades.

Mine are great for clipping my nervous nellie WB, I get in there when she's puffed up but before she become a woolly mammoth, though the wide medium blades didn't clip a ruddy thing! I have to scalp her every time with the fine blades.

Totally agree with the ridiculous place for the on/off switch.

I have these, and I clip 2 16.2hh both have dense winter coats that don't have much length to them. It copes fine, as long as I clip Tom early enough - if I try to leave it till mid-Nov to clip then his coat is too thick for almost any clippers!!! Re-clip is fine though!

I bought some to do our cob as he's a bit of a sod to clip so thought the quieter ones would be better. Tbh, they were a complete waste of money. Even with brand new blades they barely went through him, even when he was super clean & grease free with barely any coat - & they wouldn't do his back end at all (its quite course) I think they may do very fine haired horses but definately no good for the cob. I only use ours on the dog now :(

I have these and they are fabulous! They have clipped everything I have asked of them, including hogging, thick feather, and on one occasion dried in pus and blood.
I cant praise these enough!

I do echo Rhino in that the on/off switch is a pain in the bum!!

Snap!!!! I adore mine. Have a bigger set for full clips now but still use the harmonys for all sorts of jobs.

Another fan - seems they are like 'marmite'!!!

I use them on my hunting cobs but as they are clipped every 4 weeks, never have the coat too thick for them to manage.

Also use them to hog and take feathers off. If trimming very thick feathers, I find it best to take off 'layers' at a time, ie not try to force them straight through the thick hair.
