Hi! I have some liveryman harmony clippers with the battery pack. I bought these second hand off eBay last year and had nothing but trouble with them ever since!!! Most recent problem today was when I tried to use them to clip the battery wouldn't hold a charge (I had charged it all morning and the green light was flashing to indicate it was charging). I then tried plug it in and charge and use at same time but it wouldn't hold charge long enough for that either. In the end I borrowed someone else's so sorted for now but what u was wondering was if I could attach the charger direct to the clipper and use it as a mains lead??? I didn't think to try this earlier & clippers are at yard so can't see if it would work. Have just googled price of new battery and looking at £80ish which I'm reluctant to pay as seem to be just throwing good money after bad with these clippers :-(

Hi I have these clippers and it says in the pack to not charge for less than 2hours or longer than 2hr 15. It also says to not leave battery charged up when storing them etc. :)

What are you clipping with them? If its anything with a decent hair growth or course hair I wouldn't bother replacing the battery, my brand new ones were useless on the cob ;)

That's a very specific charging time!!! Maybe that's where I went wrong :-(
They were clipping ok through the hair for the 5mins or so they were working!!! She has quite a thin coat but you're right I think they would struggle with a thick coat. Am also thinking it's bit worth the £80 to replace, prob better invested in a new set

You could perhaps take them a place that sells clippers see if they have any advice, but if you charged for very long you can damage the battery. :)

Do you know anybody else with these clippers? Could try their battery. I have them and can do a full clip on a full battery with no power loss, could probably do two full clips as I've not come close to killing the battery. Does sound like your battery is knacked, though I leave them on charge until the green light stops flashing and have left them on charge overnight with no ill effects.

This! Lost count of the number of times mine were nearly thrown across the stable :(

Not sure what they'd be like with the mains connected but wasn't going to try as couldn't be doing with that again

Weird how people have such varying opinions.I love mine!!

Have clipped my very thick coated appy x native several times with no issues at all and also clipped my very hairy welsh cob last year, again made it seem easy, even my vet (who was there to sedate said cob!!) asked me about them as was so impressed!!

Only problem I do get sometimes is that the on/off switch can be a bit unreliable, but they were second hand when I got them and I have used them quite a bit so suppose is just wear and tear.

Never had any issues with battery and never pay attention to how long I charge it,although will from now on!!

What about somewhere that does clipper servicing OP,might they have some second hand batteries?? Or ebay/preloved etc for some clippers that have a fault but might be willing to sell just the battery to you cheap?? i have done this with blades before, never know unless you ask.

I'm not sure if that time is for very first charge of battery as does say in another part of info to charge til green light stays on permanently so  but it does also say the battery has a memory and to not overcharge :)

Thanks everyone! They do seem a bit like marmite, either you live or hate them! Sadly I am veering towards the hate side though think I may have been unlucky as I did buy them 2nd hand. Good idea to look for 2nd hand battery packs, I think its that or try using them soley on the mains otherwise I think they may be destined for clipper heaven!!!!
