My clippers are not cutting. They are fully charged and I've bought new blades so it's not blunt blades. They appear to run alright but simply will not cut. Any ideas?

I had a set of battery-powered (rechargeable) Liveryman Harmony's. This isn't exactly what you want to hear but they were as much good as a chocolate teapot, especially on my cob's coat. They were OK'ish for the dog however.........

If you've bought them new and they are still under guarantee I'd take this up with the manufacturers.

Sorry to be the harbinger of doom. But I wouldn't ever have another set of Liveryman's, not even as a gift.

Is your tension set correctly? Don’t know your model, but anything heavy duty has tensioners to alter / tighten, you can overdo it so the blades grind, or insufficient so there’s no ‘grip’ on the coat hairs.

my harmony's aren't great after a few years! I had my blades sharpened after the last use and they're not clicking in properly now! I put the fine set on recently and they worked fine, so I think the blades are my issue!

Sounds like a blade problem to me. I can clip anything, including my hairy connie with my harmony plus clippers.

I friend of mine bought some new blades (not for harmony's) last season they wouldn't clip. Turned out they were totally blunt! So it might be worth trying some different blades!

I had a problem with the driver on my harmony plus . It cause the smaller blades to not move left and right.

I then had an issue where blades went blunt and I didn’t realise.

Other than those two problems in 5 years they have been spot on everything.

Thanks for the replies. I've sorted the problem. A Google search brought up an old h and h forum thread. It said when changing the blade you have to make sure it clicks twice or the blades don't actually move. This proved to be the case. It's a bit of a faff but got there and horse no in had a lovely bib clip.
