Hi as title....
I bought these as they are said to be suitable for heavy use as I used to do a lot of clipping. They have always got very hot when clipping around the body of the clipper.
I sent them back a couple of times and they have been serviced etc.. in the end the UK distributor took them back and I got a replacement set but I still have problems with the new set. They get really hot before I've even finished 1 horse. been clipping tonight and despite wearing gloves I've got red hands from where they were so hot...fortunately for the horses the head and blades don't get that bad!!!
I have done a lot of clipping so am experienced so know about regular oiling, cleaning and blade tensioning etc.
Anyone else had probs with this model?

Hi I had some liveryman arena plus clippers, had same problem. I sent them back and they said a cooling fan inside them wasnt working properly, they replaced it. But they always tended to run hot. The clipper head was ok though.
Sold them in the end and got some lister liberty ones, much better!

They do tend to run hot! The most imperative point with this model and also Wolseley Harrier clippers, is take the air filter off before each clip.Hold it up to the light....if you can't see through it, clean it in hot water and blow it dry.Refit and you should be ok. Because the motor is v powerful, you need a lot of air to flow through the machine to cool it. Just brushing the filter is not good enough. Also ensure sharp blades and correct tension, plus avoid aerosol oil on bigger machines, use the slightly thicker "drip type oil". The aerosol evaporates to quickly and will cause hot running.

I have Liveryman Arena clippers and they have always run hot, despite regular servicing. Somebody gave me another set, so what I do is alternate between the two when clipping, which is a pain in the bum, but better that than the horse has a bad experience. When I can afford it, I will buy Lister Lazers, I've had Listers in the past and they've been great.

So it appears I'm not the only one then!!
Thanks for the tip re filter, I do usually just brush it clean but will clean it out really well before I next use them.
I was told about the oil by Clippersharp so only ever use the thicker stuff although the aerosol oils is handy for cleaning them after use!!

hi, I'm considering buying some Liveryman Mustang Galaxy clippers second hand but they apparently sometimes cut out, is this to do you think because they are running too hot and cut for this reason.
