Opinions on these clippers. I've searched the forum and see that they get too hot. But other than that what are your views on them?
I'm looking to replace my current set of clippers, however feel I need something more 'heavy duty' as do a lot of clipping all year round.
Thanks in advance

I have some, had them about 5 yr, they are quite noisy, they do get quite hot even though you keep tension loose an keep oiling them, but they serve my purpose, personaly i wudnt buy them again.

Mine are probably on their 11/12th season now. They do get quite warm, I've only found them overly hot when I've screwed the blades in too tight. Mine have been kicked and dropped more times than I can remember and still happily clip 3-4 horses every 4-6 weeks during the winter. I really value them actually and if I were going to replace them I would buy the same again. I'm not sure whether the current spec is much different to mine as they are over 10years old now, but mine aren't quiet and I have struggled with more sensitive horses around the head because of their noise.

I don't have Liveryman, I've got Wolseley, but they use the same blades. All blades will heat up when you are using them however if you find they are getting too warm them you have the tension on the blades too tight so slacken them off. Also by having the blades too tight you will find that the blades will blunt very quickly. Additionally stop clipping, brush off the clipper blades & also the air vents on the machine of all hair every 15 minutes or so & oil them again. This will ensure they are working at their optimum & you should get a nice clip.

My clippers are the 'Swift' model which are designed for someone having a couple of horses that need clipping. If you intend doing more then you would possibly need one of the more powerful models. (Link Below)

Ive got them.
Like RTE Ive had them a lot of years and they've been good, reliable heavy duty clippers, and I hope they go on for a good few years yet.
I've not found them to run especially hot. Maybe some people are setting the tensions incorrectly, mine have always been fine anyway.
I'd have the same again, based on the pair I have now.
