I bought a new set of clippers this year, theyve been used four times. Got them out this morning and they just won't clip the hair. I think I've narrowed it down to the tensioning screw. I've tried a new set of blades, which are correctly fitted and still not working.

The blades seem to work on the outer edges, in line with where the bolts hold the blades on but not in the middle.

When the blades are removed the clipper head it still very wobbly even with the tensioning screw wound all the way in, just don't seem to be tensioning.

Now I know I should just return them to liveryman but I have a horse with half a patchy dodgy clip that's supposed to be competing on Sunday, and to top it off said horse is for sale and a friend of a friend may want to view him this weekend!! :(

Does any know of any common fault/had the same experience and can give me some advice on how to fix them? My husband is very capable if he has a little point in the right direction

Thanks in advance

Can't see a spring, but not entirely sure if there ever was one, they work different from most other clippers. Been trying to find a picture online of the inside of them to compare but can't find one anywhere. Will get oh to investigate when he eventually returns from work!! X
