My sons pony was delivered in time for christmas only because my stable xnd field shelter builder promised faithfully they would bd up. they are not. Pony was delivered and has been living out. Hes due a companion (goat) who wont be delivered without a shelter (not having companion is far from ideal). Ive had so much anxiety worrying about him being out and companionless ive lost sleep. Hes rugged, has access to food and water, lots of tree shelter. Hes not winneying and appears to be eating fine. Shelter should be up in couple more days, am i over anxious??

Your post takes me back.
Honest to god I can remember racing out the house at 10 at night because the weather had turned bad worried sick about my first horse...and there he was happy as larry stuffing his face in the middle of the field.
Long into owning him i would go up on a miserable day expecting him to be stood shivering in the middle of the field.
A few years later i watched another new owner racing back and forwards to rug and unrug a bemused horse on a day when the rain came and went.
Fwiw the pony is probably loving all the fuss but most certainly not hurting in this mild weather..also if he is anything like my old lad he will use the shelter more i the summer than the winter!

Thank you. i should also add hes currently in the field in front of the house so i can see him out the window and everytime we go outside (ive tirned i to that person who is constantly weather watchong and looking out window). By default he can see and hear activity when people are moving about so hope that helps reassure hes not on own (none equine sesnse) ? have been offered a shetland as companion so thinking that may be more appropriate. Thanks all.
